January 5th, 2013, is the date for the upcoming Mystic Seaport Chantey Blast in Mystic, CT. Mark your calendars and please come, because it is loads of fun and I want to meet and hear you! Geoff Kaufman was one of many chantey singers at Mystic yesterday for the 71st anniversary of the Charles W. Morgan's arrival in Mystic, so I asked him for the date because it isn't up on the seaport's website yet, but details should be available there soon. Whoever sees it first, please post a link to this thread. The seaport itself will be closed that day. The venue will probably be at the usual place across the street, but let's wait to see those details on the website.

Hooray! Mystic Seaport has put info about Chantey Blast on its website. Remember that this is a fundraiser for the Sea Music Festival. I didn't see the suggested donation of $15 on the website, but more would be welcome! Here's the link.

Times are 1 PM to 5 PM. But as those of us who have been to Chantey Blast before know, arriving early is a good idea unless you like sitting on the floor or standing!.

Weather looks fine to me, back and forth to Maine.

I could use some company if anyone is on the direct route. I go I-95 to I-495 to I-295 to I-95, if that makes any sense to anyone needing a lift.

Right! Times are 1-5 PM as I indicated in my Dec. 17th post. And I want to remind everyone that the seaport itself will be closed.

Anyone not familiar with the exact location: park in the seaport's main lot. As you walk from the lot toward the street, Froshinn Hall is the building on the same side of the street as the parking lot and it is the first building on the right.

Moongoddess, can you give me any clues on how to identify you so that I can say hello? If you are still looking at this thread, you can post below or PM me. Salsa and Rowan, I'd like to meet you, too, but you can't PM me because you aren't a member. You can still respond by posting below. I think I've met everyone else who has already posted on this thread.
