This must be a trauma for you and I hope the insurance co will help big time. A day to day diary and booking in a hotel in Whitby would be the last thing to think of,but worth a thought on the small print!

have raised the shout down here and all are out looking for cat up there - she will be found my lovely - probably hiding in the bushes or behind a chicken coop on the allotments - it's the least that we can do for you after all of your warm hearted generosity shared over the years and of course it goes without saying that our home is yours - you know where he cottage is - the teapot is warmed and waiting for you - anything you need just ask - lots of love ellie and fritz x x

More delays caused by a further overnight slip and the council is now reporting cracks in some of the houses. Now awaiting more specialised equipment.
Still hoping that Jude can get more possessions out of her building.

The Whitby Gazette site is indicating that a fund has been set up in Whitby in order to support Jude in such difficult times . More details on how to help are given on the site ! There is also an account of how Fortune's kipper -smoking premises are threatened by similar potential land slips and the owner was discussing the possibility of closing in the interests of safety.

Just watched local news and pictures of 2 men in a cherry picker taking slates off the roof. Reduced me to tears but at least it looks like a gentle process although seems its going to take weeks to dismantle the 5 properties slate by slate and brick by brick. Here's some good news!
The lovely demolition men have managed to salvage all my clothes & smaller items. The cat was also seen going into the house last Friday but I still can't find her. I've nearly finished the process of renting a property so should be out of Fil's hair (!) soon.

Excellent the lads on the cherry pickers are managing to get at your stuff for you. It looked very scary up there.

Our local cat rescue organization lends out cat traps - we had to use one once. There's probably some similar group near Whitby that has one available.

They can't harm the cat but she will let you know what she thinks of the indignity.
