Golden Bough does an annual Christmas concert in Auburn, California, about 15 miles from my home. My wife and I attended this evening, and we really enjoyed it. The did a very nice selection of seasonal music, from Miss Fogarty's Christmas Cake to a very nice version of All Souls' Night.

I bought a "cassette" from them for $45 - it looked like an audio cassette, but it had a flip-out flash drive with seven albums, some bonus songs, some videos, and an audiobook. Clever idea.

Here's one of their promo videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAp8EGjTKkM&start_radio=1&list=RDlAp8EGjTKkM#t=73

Not to be confused with James Frazer's The Golden Bough: A Study in Comparative Religion.

I've always wondered if the group may have taken their name from the Frazer Golden Bough book. The group emphasizes songs from seasonal festivities from all cultures, including pagan. I really enjoy their work.
They seem to be centered in Modesto, California. Once upon a time, they spent half the year in Germany, but I think they stay on the U.S. West coast now.
They do a performance here in Auburn CA every Christmas, and stay in the home of the parents of harpist Nancy Thym. Nancy now lives in Germany, and she's a college friend of sometime Mudcatter Carly Gewirz (sister of Bruce).
We're all connected, somehow.
