A slightly late, but heartfelt HAPPY BIRTHDAY John.

I hope your day has been nice. Well, come to think of it, you're probably at the session now, aren't you? That would be a grand way to spend any day.

Love from Magpie

Don't have to wish you a happy birthday in that I was part of the impromptu choir that sang for you...:-)

(We even bought him a present in that I'd just found out that it was his birthday by accident looking at bbc's pages!)

Are you someone I know "brendy"? Sounds like you might be if you expect to be talking to John soon?

If you were singing him happy birthday, then unless you sung the song over a mobile phone to him, I'll venture to wager that you were in the same room as he. If this is true, then it is also reasonable to deduce (according to Socratean philosophy) that you probably live within drinking distance of him. Given these two assumptions, we can also safely assume, I would think, that as I....(is this getting boring?) Yes I know John very well, and I, like the rest of the folk musicians in this town, acknowledge and appreciate the work John has done, and his constant enthusiasm. As to me...... Check out his first CD.

> wager that you were in the same room as he

The room in question being of course the back bar of the Dubliner...

> first CD

The CD in question being Sessions and in that there's nobody on it called Brenda then I think I have you placed...:-)
