Mudguard, Granuaille, Grace o´Malley, comes from there. There are several spellings, but if you put in "Granuaille" many will agree. Thanks for the song, I didn't know it yet.

yep.. many different spellings but pronounced Grawn-ya whale.

It's a gorgeous part of the world... Achill Island is one of my most favourite bits of home...

Anyone got the tune for this song?

I have a CD with this song at home. But all I am able to do is get it as a .wav file. If someone is able to convert from .wav to any of the tune formats, I will send it as a mail to him or her.
My musical abilities are limited to listening to music, but I could not write it down.
