Subject: Autoharp Workshop 3/9/13, SF Bay Area From: GUEST,Autoharper Date: 24 Feb 13 - 07:16 AM Autoharp Workshop (Beginning-Intermediate) When: 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 Where: Private Residence, Palo Alto, CA 94303 Folksinger and autoharp virtuoso Adam Miller will teach a two-hour hands-on autoharp workshop for beginning to intermediate players in the San Francisco Bay Area. The workshop will be followed by a 30-minute concert, free to workshop participants. This informal hands-on workshop will develop and improve your ability to accompany singers and fingerpick familiar melodies on the autoharp. By playing along and learning by ear, we'll address rhythm, timing, chord selection, picks, dynamics, and a myriad of right and left hand techniques for diatonic and chromatic autoharp. Workshop song handouts are in the Key of C, F and G major. One of the premier autoharpists in the world, Adam Miller is a renowned American folksinger and one of the most respected autoharp instructors in the country. He has conducted autoharp workshops from the Everglades to the Arctic Circle. Miller's website is: Folksinging.org The cost is $20 per student. Instruments will not be provided. Each participant must bring an autoharp. Please arrive with your autoharp in tune. Please bring your own music stand, if you have one. 60-minute private lessons are also available for $40.
