Subject: Tech: when a 'MIDI' file comes up HTML From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:15 PM This Sunday I am hosting a St Patrick's Day party, and I thought I would download two or three of the lovely arrangements from the Contemplator page. I want to print out the songs, using my MIDI software, NoteworthyComposer. (Give me a minute and I'll provide the link to the Contemplator site.) Trouble is, even though the site itself refers to the files as MIDI's, when I right-click on a song and select 'SAVE AS,' the file type is HTML file, not MIDI or Media, the way it should be. Does anybody know how to get a musical HTML file into MIDI software? A PDF might work, too. (This is not the only site where this happens, where a file called a MIDI comes up as an HTML document.) |

Subject: RE: Tech: when a 'MIDI' file comes up HTML From: Bill D Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:23 PM You don't save midis directly into a Noteworthy file. Save it in a directory (I just call mine 'midis', with sub directories) then use Noteworthy's 'import' function to show it and print it as a Noteworthy file. |
Subject: RE: Tech: when a 'MIDI' file comes up HTML From: Bill D Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:25 PM I just saved "The Bailiff's Daughter of Islington" as baliff.mid |
Subject: RE: Tech: when a 'MIDI' file comes up HTML From: Bill D Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:30 PM That may be misleading. In Noteworthy, it's 'file-open', then click the choices in the window to 'midi' instead of NWC. Once it loads the midi, you EXPORT it as a NWC file. |
Subject: RE: Tech: when a 'MIDI' file comes up HTML From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:45 PM Okay, thanks for the encouragement. I figured it out. I can't download from a list of titles, even though they are hypertext. I have to left click on the tune, then download from the page that then appears. On a page that lists titles, a song name is an HTML file. On a page that's actually playing a given tune, it's a MIDI file. Thanks |
