CD Update from Nemo of Time-Lag Records: "...no problem. the cd should be quite affordable, probably $10.00 or maybe less."

Guest Lin- I received the following in an email from Nemo of Time-Lag Records: "...but might be nice to let people know there should be a more widely available cd version of the album out within a month or two." He will also let Ellie know of the interest in her recording. If you're interested in the cd, I'd contact him asap.

Guest Lin- That website appears to only indicate an LP release, but I'm only a information finder. I don't know whether Time-Lag Records has plans for a cd release, or might produce one for you. Try the email address listed at this link: http://www.time-lagrecords.com/shop/products-page/checkout/ or consider contacting Ms. Daniel directly http://morningstarmidwifery.com/contact.php.

I have not yet found a link for online samples of that early album, but you may find some if you persevere! Best of luck!

To Maeve:

I appreciate the information you have provided.

The reissue is only on LP? Or is it available on CD as well?

Is there anywhere to hear song clips/samples of any of the songs?

Thank you,
Lin

Ellie is now a respected baby catcher (Midwife) and author.
Here is a bit of information about the re-release of her album from Time-lag Records here in Maine:

" DANIELS, ELLIE ~ BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN ~ lp (TIME-LAG 061)
deluxe reissue of this totally unknown new england teenage folk private press from 1971. originally released by the artist herself as a demo only blank cover edition of 100 copies. just out of high school and hoping somebody might pay attention, the lp slipped though the cracks, the chapter closed, and life moved forward on a different coarse… but the album left behind stands as a true female loner folk gem..."
"ellie went on to build geodesic domes & become a professional midwife, as that same unique spirit is already deeply embedded here… a really wonderful album we're happy to help finally reach some receptive ears…a percentage of the sales from this release will help to further understanding & promotion of home birth & midwifery."

Subject: CORRECTION - ELLIE DANIELS
From: GUEST,Guest - Lin
Date: 20 Mar 13 - 01:03 AM

Hi. I just posted a thread and have to make a correction for the Subject Line. The correct name of the artist I wrote about is called, Ellie Daniels - not Ellie McDaniels.
Thank you and sorry about this error on the Subject Line.

Has anyone heard of or familiar with an obscure female American folk singer called, Ellie Daniels? Was looking on Ebay recently and saw a listing for a folk singer with this name who had a very obscure album out around 1971 called, "Both Sides of the Coin." There was no actual album cover (picture) as it was released with a plain generic cover. I believe all songs were originals accept for maybe one cover which was "Don't Think Twice."
The album wound up selling for a whopping $337.00!!

So...I am curious if anyone might have ever heard of her or heard this album? There was one other musician on the album, a flute player by the name of Ellen Keevil. Sometimes it amazes me how much people can pay for an obscure album like this, especially if you have not heard of the person or their music. I have sometimes bought obscure folk albums over the years at record shops, etc. (different places) of artists that are rare and unknown, only to be disappointed - didn't like the album at all - but I only paid a very small amount of money, maybe up to $10.00 at the very most but usually just a few dollars so it was no big loss.
Of course on Ebay, the bidding might start low and then go very high for these obscure folk records and was the case with this record.
