Subject: RE: Obit: Annette Funicello From: catspaw49 Date: 08 Apr 13 - 02:15 PM You and me both Jim. I too was completely gone for Hayley after I first saw her. But Annettte was always there and as an young adult, challenged with MS she showed that beauty was, once and for all, not just skin deep. It was hard NOT to fall in love with her then. Her biography is a good read with a title from a song in "Cinderella"......"A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." Spaw |

Subject: RE: Obit: Annette Funicello (1942-2013) From: Joe Offer Date: 08 Apr 13 - 06:12 PM I had a crush on her, too. And then to see her get MS as a young adult and to carry on with such dignity for so long - that gave me a lot of respect for her and for all who suffer from MS. Subject: RE: Obit: Annette Funicello (1942-2013) From: ChanteyLass Date: 09 Apr 13 - 12:17 AM Spaw mentioned Annette's autobiography, A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes. It was made into a TV movie. Eva LaRue played Annette as a teenager. Annette herself appeared in the film. She was reclining on a couch and spoke softly, slurring slightly and hesitant due to MS, and told children about parts of her life. From the time I heard of her diagnosis, I thought of her whenever I heard anything about MS and wondered how she was. |

Subject: RE: Obit: Annette Funicello (1942-2013) From: JJ Date: 09 Apr 13 - 08:05 AM Even if you favored Darlene, as I did, it was impossible to dislike Annette. And when life dealt her a bad hand, she played it with dignity and grace. May she rest in peace... |
