I read parts of the eulogy. He could have been a lot nicer. Pelosi was nicer.

I like the way he's killing cancer patients with his sequester. Population reduction is earth friendly. And he just deployed 4,000 troops to 35 African countries, so he's doing those folks a lot of good, spreading Obamalove along with his drones across the dark continent. And he's threatening the Chinese with nuclear annihilation if they don't do something or other. It's about time a president did that. And his new budget proposal will kill a lot of Medicare and Social Security recipients over the next few years, so again he's a winner again on the green front. What's to hate about Obama?

Obama is a politician first. He assays the political landscape and makes his decisions accordingly. I don't agree with many he has made or about to make with the exception of health care which didn't go far enough for me but I know personally that it has helped in the payment of medical bills. Also, the Lillie Ledbetter fair pay act of 2009 is one of his major achievements.

Also, remember that he is a black man and if I were he, I'd be cautious about stirring up the violent racism that is in the shadows of America.

I am highly critical of some of the decisions, 1. Drones, 2. XL Pipeline, 3. Civil Liberties and domestic spying, 4. Putting the brakes on green technology, 5. Compromising with the recalcitrant GOP who want to destroy him, 6. Targeting on a kill list ignoring "Habeas Corpus", 6. Not putting bin Laden on trial, 7. Forays into Afghanistan which are futile, 7. The persecution of Bradley Manning, (a great American hero in my book) 8. Mass deportations of immigrants, 9.Not investigating Bush and Cheney's war crimes, 10. Kowtowing to Wall Street.

I don't hate Obama but he is no FDR.

And he's got the most wonderful Attorney General in history. Eric Holder runs guns into Mexico in order to blame U.S. gun shows when people are killed with those guns. Brilliant. Holderlove is almost as sweet as Obamalove. Who needs guns in America anyway when we have such caring leaders? Obama should just collect all the guns and then summarily execute those who dissent. He already said he has the power to do that with the NDAA, so what's he waiting for? I'm getting really tired of waiting for him to deal with the dissenters. Bunch of ingrates.

Obama is a politician in that he knows how to win elections. Governing is a different story however. Answering to a corporate owned government and a GOP that is hoping for his downfall in Congress is a tough job. He is, though, a Wall Streeter and came into office with that mind set. Otherwise he wouldn't have appointed Robert Rubin and his economic team.

Actually, I think Joe Offer has done a real service. In spite of the brickbats and the childish outbursts, some genuine information is available here. I like what Mudcat has become.
Show me another site that advances a free exchange of ideas that is equal to Mudcat.

The fact that Obama is The President is no reason not to criticize some of his policies. He has let a lot of former supporters down by going back on his promises such as to close Guantanamo and in his tabling of "Single Payer". The problem is that his former supporters used him as a liberal Rorschach test where many of the hopeful read into his campaign what they wanted to hear.

Showing respect for the office of the Presidency as a earnest citizen entails criticizing him when he makes mistakes that impact negatively on the populace. The deifying of a President as some sacrosanct leader ignores the responsibility of the public to make an informed decision about his actions.
