I'm looking for the words of the "My Fair Lady" song "Wouldn't it be loverly", beginning "All I want is a room somewhere". Can't see it in the DT.

Awl I want is a room sumwhere, Far away from the cold night air, Wiv wun enormus chair, Aaw wouldunt i' be luvverly

Lots of choclut for me to eat, lots of coal makin' lots of 'eat, Warm face, warm 'ands, warm feet, Aaw wouldunt i' be luvverly, luvverly, Luvverly, luvverly, wouldunt i' be luvverly...

There is a middle break that starts:

Aaw, so abso bloomin' luvverly,

but swiss cheese brain has struck again, it has been a considerable number of years since I performed it..

I think that is it really, it gets repeated a couple of times, and I've done the best I can with the pronunciation, although I suspect 'Enry 'Igggins would be most displeased. If I can find the vid, I'll try and scrobble it for you. It was in the same drawer as the X Files, so that narrows it down to 6.....

I suspect that as a show song, it is still under copyright, if it is, I'm sorry, I didn't know.......

Sorry, can't do it in Cockney...

It's from My Fair Lady, music and lyrics by Loerner and Lowe (sp?)

All I want is a room somewhere
Far away from the cold night air
With one enormous chair
Oh wouldn't it be loverly?

Lots of chocolate for me to eat
Lots of coal making lots of heat
Warm face, warm hands, warm feet
Oh wouldn't it be loverly?

Oh, so loverly sitting abso-bloomin'-lutely still
I would never budge till spring crept over me windowsill

Someone's head resting on my knee
Warm and tender as he can be
Who takes good care of me,
Oh wouldn't it be loverly
Loverly, loverly, loverly, loverly...

Audrey Hepburns'renditions, even though she didn't sing them, of Loverly and "I Could Have Danced all Night" were IMHO two of the most charming moments ever captured on film. Not that I watch that stuff on a regular basis. Hey, isn't the game on...pass those pork rinds over this way!

Subject: Lyr Add: OH CHE BELLA FAVOLA / Wouldn't It Be...
From: GUEST,Giorgio Riso
Date: 05 Aug 05 - 10:27 AM

IN ITALIAN

A SOGNARE CHE MALE C'è
UNA CASA VORREI PER ME
UN LETTO SOTTO UN TETTO

OH CHE BELLA FAVOLA

CICCOLATA FINCHè MI Và
TANTA LEGNA DA FAR BRUCIARE
SCALDARSI E RIPOSARSI
OH CHE BELLA FAVOLA

LO SO CHE TUTTO CIò SAREBBE LA FELICITà
MA DAL SOGNO LA REALTà...TUTTO GIà CAMBIERà

UNA MAMMA PER FARSI AMAR
ED UN PADRE DA RISPETTAR
RESTARE SEMPRE INSIEME
OH CHE BELLA FAVOLA...FAVOLA...FAVOLA...FAVOLA...

oh che Bella Favola.

*this is the traduction of wouldn'it be loverly (motion picture song in italian)...but for the thatre in italian we use other words.

*VOGLIO UN UOMO CHE STA CON ME
TANTO BUONO CHE NON C'è NE
RESTARE SEMPRE INSIEME
OH CHE BELLA FAVOLA

What a great show! I just had the opportunity in May to perform in it as Alfred P. Doolittle in Wilmington Delaware! Boy, I really made it to the big time now huh? HAHA! The woman that played Eliza was wonderful...
