Subject: RE: Tune Req: Chippenham Folk Sessions From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 21 May 13 - 02:43 AM Bryan, you're a hero for getting all that done at short notice. Jax Bar seems to be in Bath Road according to the map on the Festival website. It's certainly central. It will be a voyage of discovery when we get there. Valmai (Lewes) |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Chippenham Folk Sessions From: Mo the caller Date: 21 May 13 - 04:23 AM Have fun. And if anyone hasn't been to the Spare Parts workshops and is new to session playing they are really helpful. We used to enjoy them when we went to Chippenham. The first year we learnt Bonny Kate, which no doubt we'll be dancing to at Chester Festival in the Albireo ceilidh. The way they play that tune is magic, given something extra by the recognition 'oh, that's one that we play'. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Chippenham Folk Sessions From: GUEST,Derrick Date: 21 May 13 - 04:44 AM Jax Bar From the pedestrianised High Street, cross the river and the bar is on your left, on the corner, beside the river. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Chippenham Folk Sessions From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 21 May 13 - 01:47 PM Thanks, Derrick, I can picture it now. And, Mo, many thanks for the kind remarks. We make a point of bringing tunes that we've heard in the wild in Sussex and at festivals, so they should be useful. Valmai (Spare Parts, Lewes) |
