Am trying to find the words to the old Grandpa Jones song, That New Vitamine. I've found it on YouTube, but the film is so old I can't understand all the words. If someone out there knows them I'd appreciate it if you'd send them to me.

It's a fun song. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It was new to me.

I found 2 copies at YouTube: #1, #2. Here's what I hear:

Words and music by Scott Wiseman (according to
As sung by Grandpa Jones

[Verse 1] Have you heard the latest rage
In this modernistic age?
There's no use of growin' old when youth is gone.
There's a scientific pill.
You can take it if you will,
And grow peppy while the years are rollin' on.

[Chorus 1] When you've taken that new vitamine,
Greet the world every day feelin' fine.
There's a spring in your walk
And a lilt in your talk
When you've taken that new vitamine.

[V2] Uncle Jake was sixty-two
When they told him he was through
With such foolish things as women, wine, and song.
Now he's up and on the go
When the rooster starts to crow,
And he whistles when the ladies walks along.

[C2] Since he's taken that new vitamine,
His shoes never do need a shine.
He's steppin' so high
With a gleam in his eye
Since he's taken that new vitamine.

[V3] Sister Lucy testifies
"I've tried every kind of dyes,
But in spite of all, my hair is streaked with gray.
I was losin' all my charm,
And it filled me with alarm,
'Cause the men who passed would look the other way."

[C3] Now she's taken that new vitamine.
There's a wash on her line all the time.
Up and down the avenue,
Fellers whistle [wolf whistle]
Since she's taken that new vitamine.

[V4] Now there was a little ghost,
And the thing he wanted most
Was to hang around the graveyard dressed in white,
And he said: "I am a haint.
Should be haintin' but I ain't,
'Cause I'm afraid to be out after night."

[C4] Now he's taken that new vitamine,
And he looks just like old Frankenstein,
And they call him Gruesome Luke,
And he's an energetic spook
Since he's taken that new vitamine.

["Taken" could be "takin' " throughout. (It makes no difference to my ears, unless you prefer to pronounce the "g" in "taking.") "You've taken" could be "You're takin'."]
