Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: GUEST,BanjoRay Date: 12 Jul 13 - 08:07 PM Latest News: Roy Machin and Mike Miller will be opening the concert. They've been delighting audiences at the Rock (in both Wentworth and Maltby settings) for many years as very smooth performers of classic old songs on vocal, guitar and Dobro. |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: GUEST,Roger Knowles Date: 12 Jul 13 - 06:08 AM Dave, yes, Silsden as in near Keighley & Skipton. It's out of the village at a campsite. Roger |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: Dave the Gnome Date: 11 Jul 13 - 04:27 AM Is that Silsden as in Sislden and Steeton, Roger? If so I guess the Clapham gig fits quite neatly in. I am committed to going to Skipton for the Clogfest that day but may be able to pop by with a bit of luck. We are indeed well blessed in the South Dales :-) DtG |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: GUEST,Roger Knowles Date: 11 Jul 13 - 04:22 AM Unfortunately this coincides with the Bluegrass Dalesfest at Silsden, otherwise I'd have been there. |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: Backwoodsman Date: 10 Jul 13 - 11:44 AM Pete and Ellen (and Ray and Ray's buddy) were very impressive at Epworth last week. Great playing, great songs, and extremely nice people. Loved everything they did, and thoroughly enjoyed playing with them. I'd love to come to the Ukrainian Club on Saturday but, alas, Mrs. Fenswoman will be out with the girls on the lash, and I'm required to dog-sit! Boo! |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: GUEST,musket sans Ian Date: 10 Jul 13 - 10:27 AM My apologies Ray. I made a note of it when you mentioned it in Epworth the other week but my responsible adult had already made other plans and the need to know principle works well in Mather Towers. Have a great night, Ian. |
Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: BanjoRay Date: 10 Jul 13 - 09:59 AM Well Fred - they'll just be doing an afternoon gig in the village hall, Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales on the 14th. They'll then be travelling back to the States after a few days rest with Pete's sister who lives here. The nearest one to you would have been the Conwy Bluegrass Festival last weekend - great fun. Subject: RE: Old Time concert Doncaster From: GUEST,Fred McCormick Date: 10 Jul 13 - 09:53 AM Ray, do you know any of the other dates they'll be playing while they're over here? I can't find a listing on the Internet and I can't make the one in Doncaster. Something a little closer to Merseyside would be ideal. Many thanks. |
