I'm running a 'songswap' on Comic Songs and Parodies - Wed 5.30-7 @ the
Woodlands Hotel...I really wanted to call it 'Head full of Shite' as
that's how my friend Baz Parkes once described me!
Over the last 50 years I have accumulated hundreds of silly songs, diddles, daft rhymes,
nonsense songs, parodies etc and would like to share them.
If YOU have any similar material come along and sing/say it - or just come
for the fun!

These are the sort of things that stick in the collective
folk memory, and are as traditional as ballads, and we can all remember bits of funny songs/sayings
we learned when growing up (well actually I never grew up....just got older!)

Just one snag. It isn't in the programme. Is this on Wed 7th or previous Wednesday ?

There is only one Wednesday during the festival ....

Got there early- whilst they were hoovering up after what had gone before. Had lovely cream tea in the garden. Went in to find room full of folk and a list that we were not on. Should you not have come into the garden ? Everyone did parodies by someone else. Tone Deaf Leopard write their own. Would love to have contributed. Ah well.....

Me too. Arrived a wee bit late, so didn't get name on the list ( didn't realise there was one until halfway through at least). Probably enough material to make it a daily event!

Sue - NOT everyone did parodies by someone else ! And the setup was not necessarily for self penned .

I agree Terry. It was billed as a parody session - and anything could have happened. No worries... just a bit dissapointed after walking up there not to have got on. Thanks for your posting. At least someone is on here.
