I am so sad to tell you that Ann passed away late this morning. She had hardly been conscious for long recently and, as far as I know, there was no fear or pain. The hospital staff have been wonderful as have all the people here who posted messages of encouragement and sympathy.

My sincerest condolences to you and yours, Charlie.

The comment above, "It's good to know that she passed without fear or pain." has special meaning for me and perhaps others who have followed Charlie's thread about this for well over 200 posts. Charlie let us know a short time ago that he and Ann were resigned to the outcome expected and that now has come to be. Charlie posted about Ann's sense of humour late in the game we all play and that brought solace not just to Ann and to Charlie but to all who followed his thread.

It's Ann's funeral tomorrow, Friday October 18th, at the Dunfermline Crematorium. Her 4 sons will be carrying her in and her two daughters walking behind with flowers. It will be a service lead by a Celebrant and will consist of a couple of bible readings, a poem and, just maybe, those who can joining in with Rosemary Clooney in "You Are My Sunshine". In her own words we will "shuffle out" to "Always Look On The Bright Side Of LIfe"!
Afterwards off to a local hotel for "refreshments" and sausage rolls etc.
Think of us as you always have and accept my thanks once more for the good and helpful words.
