Subject: Sirens From: Uncle Tone Date: 16 Oct 13 - 08:23 AM Delighted to note that two verses of Cyril Tawney's 'Grey Funnel Lines', I think sung by Maddy Prior, are used as an intro to the 1993 film, 'Sirens', starring Hugh Grant. I wonder if Cyril ever got the royalties. Sirens Tone |

Subject: RE: 1993 film 'Sirens' & Grey Funnel Line From: GUEST,Malcolm Storey Date: 17 Oct 13 - 09:36 PM As I was saying - Guest above - dizlexic fingers. Been to the Blue Mountains, been to the Studio, been to the House / Estate. It's all rather wonderful, even now. Just enjoy the film and lets not get too heavy. Hate to say it but the Australians do this sort of folky stuff a lot better than the Brits. But then the Brits in position to produce folk included material are not interested. Maybe Sting's work with the Wilsons will open a few doors. We can only hope. |
