The 2013 Souling season is underway, details of this year's performances, fun, music & singing can be found here itinerary

The music and singing bit is on the Saturday 9th November (the last night) at the Saracen's Head, Warburton, Lymm. WA13 9TH

It's always a busy night so get there for around 9pm.

JJ

I have taken the liberty of putting a link to your itinerary from my folk song/dance website hub; previously called North Cheshire Folk it has now spread its wings slightly further afield and is in need of a new name.

The website can he found here.

With reference to the previously mentioned web-site it is clear that the section on folk dance has yet to be extended geographically in the same way the folk song section has. I will do this shortly. Any info about folk dance venues/morris teams/events in the area covered (within 15 miles of the centre of Stockport) would be welcome. I can be contacted via Mudcat or the website.

I'm just wondering, for about the third year in a row, whether I should go sober (I mean, go and then stay sober) or cadge a lift. Anyone driving to Warburton with room for +1?

Keep an eye open here Phil, I'm sure there'll be someone who will oblige. I can't help, I'm on the all-day tour so will be arriving at the Sarries around 1pm, of course the big action is around 9pm....I just need to find a way of getting home!

The Play enjoyed a rather brilliant tour around the hostelries of Knutsford last night - in spite of the heavy rain.

For those wishing to come to the session in the Saracen's Head on Saturday, it's not unknown for those coming from afar to park to odd caravan or camper in car park at the back.

Now Chorlton is not too far from where I'm trying to get to, but as I am also looking for a lift that probably doesn't help too much ...

The last night of the play at the Saracens Head was great last year

I seem to recall they had some excellent local ale on too .... Dunham Massey Brewery 'Big Tree'.... hope that is on again.

I've been attending 'the last night of the play' for a few years now. Always have a great time, always good beer and always managed to find my way home one way or another.

Look forward to seeing you all there,

Terry

I would love to be, John, but sadly transport doesn't permit. (I should probably have made the effort to get to Alti last night.) Maybe next year.
