Rasta asked me via PM for more information about recordings.

I heard the song on Spotify. According to Spotify, RIDE UP appears on two albums by The Cumberland Trio:

"The Cumberland Trio" (Fiery Grizzard Records, 2002)

"Lost & Found: The 1964 New York Sessions" (Fiery Grizzard Records, 2013)

A few other groups have also recorded it:

The Cherry Hill Singers, on "An Exciting New Folk Group" (Essential Media Group, 2009)

Les Baxter's Balladeers, on "Hootenanny! A Folk Festival – Presented by Jack Linkletter" (Goldenlane Records, 2011)

As may be expected, the words vary somewhat.

There are other songs with the same title.

I think we may have twisted off-

Is the rock-a-billy "Ride Up," sung by the Tarriers, the song wanted here?

Also see the spirituals "Gwine Up" and "I'm Gwine up th Heab'n Anyhow, in James Weldon Johnson, in "The Book of American Negro Spirituals."
"Gwine Up" is a more complete version of "Oh, Yes, I'm Going Up," posted above by Jim Dixon.

From Folk Songs of the American Negro by John Wesley Work (Nashville: Fisk University, 1915), page 66:

OH, YES, I'M GOING UP

CHORUS: Oh, yes, I'm going up, going up, going all the way, Lord.
Going up, going up, to see the heavenly land.

1. I'm going up to heaven for to see my robe.
(See the heavenly land.)
Going to see my robe and try it on,
(See the heavenly land.)
It's brighter than the glittering sun,
(See the heavenly land.)
Oh, saints and sinners will-a-you go.
(See the heavenly land.)

2. I tell you what I like-a-the best,
(See the heavenly land.)
It is them shouting Methodist,
(See the heavenly land.)
They shout so loud that the Devil looks,
(See the heavenly land.)
And he gets away with his cloven foot,
(See the heavenly land.)

Is this the one you had in mind? I couldn't find it done by the Tarriers, but this version was on Spotify.

RIDE UP
As sung by The Cumberland Trio

Ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.
Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.

I'm gonna keep on ridin' high
(See the heavenly land.)
To see those angels in the sky.
(See the heavenly land.)
Those pearly angels you should see.
(See the heavenly land.)
Oh, devil stay away from me.
(See the heavenly land.)

Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.
Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.

I tell you what I like the best:
(See the heavenly land.)
It takes a shouting Methodist.
(See the heavenly land.)
They shout so loud that you should see.
(See the heavenly land.)
Oh, devil stay away from me.
(See the heavenly land.)

Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.
Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
To see the heavenly land.
Ride!

[Banjo Instrumental Break]

Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.
Oh, yes, we'll ride up; ride up; ride all the way, Lord.
Ride up; ride up to see the heavenly land.

To see the heavenly land,
To see the heavenly land.
