I've just heard the sad news that Frank Clapton, bass voice and some time banjo player of the Pennine Folk Group has passed away. Fantastic bubbly character with a big smile and a big heart.

The Pennines ran the very successful folk club at Hyde United social club in the 70's. All the big names appeared there. The Pennines themselves ranges far and wide. Their second LP was recorded at TPA studios, Denmark St London. If you wanted to make an LP there wasn't much choice of where to go in the 60's/70'.

I was very sorry to hear this news. I have added Frank to the "In Memoriam" thread. My condolences to all who knew him.

RIP

Peter
