Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Home At Last (Andy Roberts) From: GUEST,Treacle Bolly Date: 30 Mar 14 - 10:29 AM Home at last is when you're with me, safe ashore is when you're near All my worries just a gesture take a look and disappear In the starlight water shadows tumbling lines of tiny birds Visions slipping through my fingers and I cannot find the words In the forest there is beauty weak and diamonds for the least For she knows and feels his weakness even though his pain has ceased Lying in your shadow drifting needing loving when you're near All my worries just a gesture take a look and disappear (Not sure about "weak and" before "diamonds" - but not sure what else it could be !) |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Home At Last (Andy Roberts) From: Reinhard Date: 31 Mar 14 - 03:44 PM I hear this as "weeping diamonds for the beast". |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Home At Last (Andy Roberts) From: GUEST,Treacle Bolly Date: 01 Apr 14 - 11:00 AM Thanks Reinhard. I expect you are right. The more I listened, the more I was sure I heard a "k" sound !! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Home At Last (Andy Roberts) From: Jim Dixon Date: 02 Apr 14 - 01:27 PM I agree with Reinhard's correction. There is also an acoustic version of HOME AT LAST as a bonus track on the CD "Andy Roberts and the Great Stampede" (1973, reissued 2007). I listened to that as well as "Urban Cowboy" (1971) on Spotify; the words are a bit more clear there. |
