Subject: Tune Req: Popsy Wopsy

Greetings!

I'm trying to find sheet music for the British Music Hall song "Popsy Wopsy". I'm trying to learn it for the accordion, so I'm hoping for both the melody and bass.

Two played versions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRDZkzVfSNw

Lyrics:
Popsy was a singer in a
West End revue,
Sang the sort of ditties that
the people all knew
Every night they used to turn the
limelight strong
On someone's face while
she sang her song....
But if she threw him a kiss...
"I'll bet she fancies me..."

Sing to me, my little Popsy Wopsy!
Turn the limelight right on me!
When on that stage you come
My little heart beats just like a drum.
I shall dream about you all night tonight.
You're the sweetest kid I've seen.
I would kiss you, my Popsy,
But there's one thing stops me--
Those footlights in between.

I saw something that indicates you may be able to access the sheet music at the Library of Congress website. I hope this isn't a red herring. Also, put the song title in quotation marks and try Google Images.

I've done both. Sadly, the only results that I found was for a different song of the same title (Lone Grass Widow).

I am sorry about that.

There is a copy of it (I think) at the Sheet Music Warehouse. Copyright is 1913, so I'd suspect it to be the same song. It's 10 pounds but it's listed in good condition. Not much help, but it's all I'm finding at present.

Well, I know that the book "Bumper Book of Music Hall Songs" has a copy of the music in it, but I'm rather broke (and unemployed) at the moment   :(

I guess I hoped that someone maybe had a copy and could share the music with me as an image, PDF or ABC file

I just noticed that a Google of

Popsy Wopsy

brings up various sheet music images. Try clicking through those images and pay close attention about images 10-15.

Sadly, as I said before all of the images are for one of two different songs with the same name.
