I have been approached by an organiser of the Moulton Crow Fair. They have a dance troupe that perform the Crow Dance at the Fair, but their musician is unable to play this year. So they need someone for Sat July 12th afternoon, and for 3 practises on Thursday evenings. They have found the sheet music - it's 'just' someone to play it that they want.

And now Moulton will always have a site for the Crow Dance to be held, for generations to enjoy in years to come. Moulton's unique "Crow Dance" (Relic of the Cornfields) was given a twist this year by having one of the Crow Men acting as M.C and involving some of the audience to attempt the Crow Dance, followed by the Farmer arriving on a pushbike before the main surprise to all (including the Committee Members) was the Scarecrow entering the arena on a Motorbike.

The Crow Dance is a traditional dance resurrected from the 1920′s, it appeared during the 70′ only to fall by the wayside until 2006 when the Moulton Events Committee was formed.

And here they are!

nearly 100 years old - makes them significantly older than most Morris Sides

It would be a shame if the dancing stopped for lack of a musician.

I have no I idea where Moulton is. Are the chords stright forward? If close to south Lancs do msg me if chords or nothing too fancy

For some reason my tablet and my computer will not let me login on Mudcat. It's extremely slow and keeps dropping. So I have taken the liberty of ringing the lady I was thinking of to see if she could help you out with some musicians. She said she thinks she may have seen something about this on facetube. She was busy when I rang but has given me permission to post here. Liz Rosenfield said to give her a ring and she will try and sort something out as it's a very worthwhile thing and she would like to help. This way I do not need commit to doing it (but when I and my daughter are better if I can I will try to help)

She said to me you know each other and you are a lovely lady.

I have never sang at Chester. I have at Middlewich, Ellesmere, Wallasey, Frodsham and The Prospect at Runcorn on your side of the border ;)

When mudcat lets me finally get on I will get your message but my daughter is in hospital just now so it could get delayed.. Ask Liz for my number and I am sure she will pass it on to you.
