Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 11 May 14 - 01:31 PM Hard to know what's happening, from the PingTracing I think it's a failure in Penn State's mirroring. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: brashley46 Date: 11 May 14 - 01:08 PM It's still happening here in Canada too. On, then off, then on again ... |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST,Derek Schofield Date: 11 May 14 - 01:01 PM Still slow for me (in UK). Even after getting into Mudcat, opening individual threads is taking a while... Derek |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Don Firth Date: 11 May 14 - 12:38 PM This morning it took several minutes, then "The Mudcat Café" and the "Quick Links" box appeared, but nothing else. It stayed that way for about twenty minutes. Then the list of threads finally popped on. Weird! Don Firth |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 10 May 14 - 08:54 PM My universal access, world-wide, including 4th world countries for the last fifteen years....has been astounding. Mudcat Rocks. Sincerely, Gargoyle NOT being a "member" affords certain privelages and insights. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Don Firth Date: 10 May 14 - 06:49 PM It seems to be doing it again. I got on easily this morning, then went off to do some other things. Then after a few hours I tried to get back on and NUTHIN'! The little arrow on my screen (used to be an hourglass on my old computer) just kept going in circles. Couple of hours. Finally it just popped on. Frustipating and aggravationally irksome a lot. Don Firth |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Janie Date: 10 May 14 - 01:11 PM I spoke too soon. Slowed down again, though not stopped, nor absolutely glacial. Hope Max and his team (hope he has a team so that it doesn't all fall on him and demands on his time alone) is/are able to sort it out sooner rather than later. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 10 May 14 - 01:04 PM Same here in UK. I thought it was our pathetic amount of Broadband speed. Like Old Father Thames, it just keeps on scrolling along. I also thought maybe the site was going to close, as the number of threads has diminished to very few. Just now, it whizzed onto the screen; hope it continues like this! |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 10 May 14 - 12:43 PM Still having intermittent failure, or long delay. Frustrating- and causing loss of patrons? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Janie Date: 10 May 14 - 12:25 PM Was roaring along this morning, then for an hour or so got very, very slow to load, and now seems to load quickly again. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 10 May 14 - 12:23 PM Down for me too for several days (UK). I was just starting to wonder if the site had gone for good. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Joe Nicholson Date: 10 May 14 - 09:14 AM Well that's cheered me up no-end because I thought it was my computer Joe N |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST,Peter Laban Date: 10 May 14 - 08:56 AM Yes, down for days and very hard to get hold of for much longer. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Mr Happy Date: 10 May 14 - 07:53 AM I'm in UK This is 1st time I've been able to access for a few days. As others have reported, the scrolling thing just keeps on scrolling, then eventually times out with msg can't connect |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 10 May 14 - 02:47 AM Rechecking now MudCat's up suggests a breakdown in the host cloud's DNS addressing: I'm currently accessing a local hub address in Germany, not an American one (after being bounced all over Europe en route). |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST,eldergirl on another computer Date: 10 May 14 - 02:13 AM seems to have been fixed, now. thanks Max(and crew?) for sorting it out. x el |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Andrez Date: 09 May 14 - 10:00 PM The 'troubles' are happening in Australia too. Best wishes to Max (and Co?) in getting the tech issues sorted. Cheers, Andrez |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 09 May 14 - 09:03 PM In the mean time, use the drop-down in the header to change the display filter to 3 days and you'll see the stuff that never got replied to because of the service drop. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 09 May 14 - 08:50 PM It is the wages of sin. Repent while you still can. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Joe Offer Date: 09 May 14 - 08:40 PM Yeah, it's been frustrating. I hope things get straightened out soon. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Deckman Date: 09 May 14 - 08:24 PM Don ... I suspect the real reason is because of your bad behaavior over the years ... you know ... like ... always keeping your guitar in tune so we couldn't play with you ... memorizing ALL the verses ... you know ... that kind of unfair stuff! bob(deckman)nelson |
Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: GUEST Date: 09 May 14 - 08:22 PM I've dropped Max a detailed note of a ping tracer on his LinkedIn profile: a firewall near the server's been blocking everything. |
Subject: Tech: Trouble opening Mudcat. ??? From: Don Firth Date: 09 May 14 - 08:05 PM Point of curiosity. Lately, after I check my e-mail in the morning, I generally check in on Mudcat to see what, if anything, is going on. I find that I can't get on. The little arrow goes around and around and nothing happens. No Mudcat. This goes on until sometime in mid to late afternoon when I do get on. Is everyone running into this, or is it just me? I note that the list of threads is far less than it used to be, so I assume that the problem is with Mudcat. What's going on? Don Firth |
