Subject: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Stewart Date: 30 May 14 - 11:57 PM The Pacific Northwest Folklore Society's online magazine, NW HOOT June/July 2014 edition is now online. It is published every two months and includes articles and CD Reviews of interest to the folk music community. Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 01 Jun 14 - 09:13 AM Brilliant stuff - I've just subscribed to an RSS newsfeed for it. Don't know if y'all really need the entire bowl of alphabet soup below, but it's what my NetNewsWire reader gave when I added it to the pile and it went in search of a feed line (or whatever they call them). The hyperlink does look a bit incomplete, though - you might have better luck with a manual copy-&-paste: http://pnwfolklore.org/nwhoot/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=34&l http://pnwfolklore.org/nwhoot/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=34&layout=blog&Itemid=1 |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Feb 19 - 12:28 AM Maybe we don't need a new thread every time the NW HOOT comes out, so maybe we can make this thread an overall reminder, to be refreshed whenever the HOOT comes out. So, now the NW HOOT is out for February/March 2019. Every issue is a delight. If you're ever in Seattle, stop in the Couth Buzzard music store and take in a concert there if you can, and make sure to sing with the two wonderful singaround groups in the Seattle area. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 06 Feb 19 - 04:53 AM I agree that it's much better to keep refreshing this thread than starting a new one every time, because people can then put a tracer on it and won't miss out when new issues appear. I wouldn't have seen this one, only for my tracer-alert flagging it up. Or maybe make this a PermaThread? (I'm not exactly sure what the difference is. Joe...? Ya out there?) Good work, Stewart. Now... if only I didn't live 6000 miles away... |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Stewart Date: 06 Feb 19 - 11:52 AM Thanks Bonnie. It's a labor of love and I will keep it going as long as I'm able. And I'll keep refreshing this thread with each new issue. S. in Seattle |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 06 Feb 19 - 01:16 PM You're more than welcome! Here's the up-to-date link - Joe's one works, but those in our 2014 posts have gone to that great Blue Screen Of Death in the sky. Current URL is: http://pnwfolklore.org/wp-nwhoot/ |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Stewart Date: 31 May 19 - 12:24 PM The Pacific Northwest Folklore Society's online magazine, NW HOOT April/May 2020 edition is now online. This issue features two new articles: The Rivers of Washington, by Stewart Hendrickson; and Why Music?. Cheers, S. in Seattle |
Subject: RE: NW HOOT - new online edition posted From: Joe Offer Date: 23 Apr 20 - 01:42 AM OK, so the message above is from Stewart, and it says the June/July 2014 edition is now online, but the link leads to the edition for April/May 2020. I think I'm going to have to give Stewart some tips on managing PermaThreads. So, folks, keep looking here. This is the real thing. -Joe- Mudelf OCD kicked in and fixed it. ;-) |
