Subject: RE: FastnetMaritime and Folk Festival june13 From: The Sandman Date: 10 Jun 14 - 02:00 AM 2014 Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival takes place in Ballydehob from June 13 - 15 this year with a huge range of performers already confirmed to take part. The Fastnet Maritime and Folk Fest is an international festival based in the picturesque village of Ballydehob, West Cork, featuring maritime and other folk music. Sea songs, shanties, dance and craft displays,workshops, sea songwriting competition, busking, music in the pubs and main stage on Ballydehob pier. Among those appearing this year will be Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly, Tim Browne, Pat Fleming and Marie Cotter, Hookes and Crookes, Jim Mageaan, Pat Sheridan, Dick Miles, Jim Bainbridge, Richard Grainger, Andrew Mackay and Carole Etherton, Rubicon, Eddie Lenihane, the Cork Singers' Club, Riggerloftets Shanty Choir and many many more. There will be storytelling with Eddie Lenihane, admission €5, in Levis Corner bar, Saturday 14 June 7 PM and a songwriting competition sponsored by IMRO, Saturday 14 June 3 PM at Vincent Coughlans. As well as live performances there will be a number of workshops during the festival including fiddle with Matt Cranitch and button accordion with Jackie Daly. These workshops will take place on Saturday 15 june, 12.30 PM admission €10, venues Rosies upstairs room, Vincent Coughlan's side room respectively.
