Some may remember the thread last posted in Marxh 2004 about a very tragic song that dealt with how we use other folk, races, religions or whatever, as scapegoats... It's "always them" and never us.

Gerry Conlon died today :(

The song is as poignant today as when it was written

May his legacy be the good grace and forgiveness he shown in a life that must have pained him deeply. Sixty is no age to die when 15 years were robbed off him through no fault of his own and being born where he was. No-one deserves to be blamed and fitted up for something they never did.

May he rest in peace and now have the freedom to roam where he wishes :)

Amen. I met Gerry, very shortly after he had been released, at the Irish Centre in Camden Town, and already he was thinking not about himself and those 15 stolen years but about how he could help others.
He was an inspiration; haunted though he was. A gentle, kind man. Sleep well.
