Subject: CDSS call for papers - 'CD+S' online From: Desert Dancer Date: 02 Jul 14 - 03:01 PM The Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS) has put out a call for papers for its peer-reviewed journal, returning online in 2015. "Country Dance & Song", which has been on hiatus since the early 1990s, is to be renamed "CD+S". For the inaugural/cenntennial issue, here's the theme: CDSS was founded in 1915 as the American Branch of the English Folk Dance Society. At that time there was a handful of active groups. Today there are hundreds of active member groups and thousands of individual members, participating in traditional dance, music, and song rooted in England and North America. How did we get to this level of vibrant participation? How has the form of the art that you are most deeply engaged in changed over this 100-year period? Where is it going? http://www.cdss.org/country-dance-and-song-journal.html ~ Becky in Long Beach |
