Hi Just moved to Honiton. No transport and wondering if anyone from this way goes to Sidmouth Volunteer or any other folk club and will share petrol or taxis? Or even just talk to me

geographical search cresby.com > Sidmouth 20 Km radius

Radway has an open mic (AFAIK) & there may be something in the Anchor (AFAIK see link)

geographical search cresby.com > Honiton 30 Km radius

Other towns are available, though if no session or FC or festival or dance then town not selectable directly (I use 12 digit OSGR when I am going off-list)

There is at least one ceilidhnaut in Honiton. The Colyford session & Jurrasic Folk are nearer than Sidders. Topsham alternates Concert & SAR/open stage.

Try this source for clubs and sessions Flaxey Green

I'm not aware of much in Honiton itself but that doesn't mean there's nothing. Brian and Ruth, who sometimes MC the Topsham Folk club may know more about that area. Brian, I know, also used to go to the (English) music session on the 3rd Wednesday at the Volunteer in Sidmouth. I don't know if that's still running but the ("traditional") singaround on the 1st Wednesday has moved to the upstairs room at the Anchor and still has some of the best unaccompanied singing I've heard. There's plenty going on in general but I don't know much about accessibility via public transport I'm afraid – some of the best stuff I get to is a little bit off the beaten track (and to the west of Exeter).

Looking for transport for folk sessions in Sidmouth or near. Can get to Sidmouth in the day from here and back early evening late afternoon. Need to find a way of getting to ordinary sessions somewhere. Have most of the sites saying where music is thanks. Have been to most of those around Exeter but have moved.

After digging around there are no music sessions in Sidmouth apart from the Singing session on the 1st Wednesday at the Anchor as mentioned above. Apparently the locals didnt like the session at the Volunteer so it died. If anyone wants to start one my wife and I would certainly be interested.
