Subject: Lyr Req: Folk song from school 1950's From: GUEST,Lynda Finn NZ Date: 24 Jul 14 - 03:14 AM When I was at school we sang a song, the lyrics of which were asking a 'sailorman' to bring back things from abroad, for a man's daughter. This is all I can remember: ...China silk as white as milk with a touch of dusky gold, I'll pay you with the sight of her, She loves a sailor bold. I've Googled in vain, so I hope someone can ID this for me. Cheers |

Sweet China silk, as white as milk, and tea, new crop Bohea. --Cincinnati Star The same quote appeared in a couple of other papers. |
