Visiting New England currently 9th Oct onwards and I now know where we'll be over the next week or so.

Is there anything going on that coincides with the areas we are staying? It would be nice to share a song somewhere in a singaround or similar. We'll have a car from tomorrow so can do a bit of travelling within reason. Like a broad range of music but probably not an unaccompanied only, very traditional sing

Thurs Oct 9 - Boston, MA
Fri Oct 10 - South Portland, MA
Sat Oct 11 - Lincoln, NH
Sun Oct 12 - Stowe, VT
Mon Oct 13 - Stowe, VT
Tues Oct 14 - Enfield, CT
Wed Oct 15 - Middleton, RI
Thurs Oct 16 - Hyannis, MA

When I've tried this before I've always managed to be in the wrong town on the wrong night! But who knows?

Nick, is that South Portland, Maine? Friday evenings are the weekly sessions at The Press Room in Portsmouth, NH, which is about 45 minutes from South Portland, Maine.

South Portland Maine indeed

Press room?

I'm guessing it's a listening to a performer rather than getting involved and having a go sort of evening?

Fridays from about 4 to 9 are getting involved and having a go sort of evenings. That doesn't appear to be on the calendar. The stuff that IS on the calendar is concert stuff.

If time goes right we'll try and pop in.

Do you think someone would lend me a guitar for a song?

The Pressroom sessions are quite friendly, and I'm sure someone will be willing to lend you an instrument or two. Tuning may be optional!

On the road in Louisiana,
Charlie Ipcar

Hi, Nick. This site might help you, but I've never been to open mics at any of the places listed for your Middletown, RI, date. The places I have been to have nothing listed on that date.

Thank you.

Went to the Press Room and had a chat to some people there and heard some of the history of the session.
