There is something about it on 'The Tale of Ale' a collection of songs on a fairly obvious topic produced about 30 years ago, but still available on CD from topic.

I've not listened to the album for a while, so from memory, I think it might be a recitation rather than a song.

Alongside the Boston Molasses Flood, one of the more problematic incidents in life.
The element of Nemesis in the Beer Flood, of course, was when the owners of one of the houses affected started selling tickets to see the bodies of the deceased, and packed the house so full the floor gave way, decanting the lot into the cellar beneath, which was still full of beer. Another six were added to the toll: what a way to go, though!

I've been doing my family history and it turns out my ancestors lived in the St Giles rookery; the font my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather was baptised in is still in St Giles' church and I saw it for the first time a few of weeks ago when we were in the smoke for dinosaurs and Kate Bush. I also had relatives who were baptised in St George's in Bloomsbury, the church in Hogarth's Gin Lane which was based on the rookery.

I've sung in St Georges', the secret is to use the flat walls in the roof for reverb.
St Giles' was renowned as the last pub for the condemned on the way from Newgate Prison to Tyburn. A final wet of the whistle...

A similar incident a few years ago: I remember being very late for a meeting in Nottinghamshire as the M1 was closed because ... a tanker carrying Marmite had crashed, spilling its load!
