Those of you who remember a little old lady with a voice that could knock your socks off.
Her daughter rang today to tell me she passed away this week in Kidderminster.

She was keen on Jazz too and ran a Folk Club in the area for many years. She was always going to dig out some cassettes she had of after club singing at her house and was proud of the nights Arlo Guthrie sang there. I never got to hear those tapes.

I don't have any more details, but her wishes were for those attending the funeral to be brightly dressed with colourful umbrellas. That's Donnie. Plus a feast after. Quite a character!

Funeral is at St Mary's Church, Churchfields, Kidderminster Friday Nov 7th at 2pm.
Remember those umbrellas. Inspired by Jazz/New Orleans funerals.
