Para Handy title music

In the late 50s /early 60s on UK TV ,there was a series about the adventures of "Para Handy" and his Clyde Puffer , the "Vital Spark " , starring Duncan Macrae and Roddy MacMillan ( who later starred in "Chato's Land "). The thing is , I can remember the theme tune , and I can PLAY the theme tune , but I don't know what it's called !!; any ideas ???

Hi Roger - there's an earlier thread on this from about 10 years ago, in which Jim McLean identified the tune as the Para Handy Polka by Iain Gourley! Hope that's the one you were thinking of!

It's been re-released on a widely available and excellent CD of Jimmy Shand- don't know the name of the CD but you'll find the three part polka there- a great tune but the stories are better!
