In Ireland the beaten-down populace have finally dug their heels in at an attempt to make them pay a semi-private company for the provision of water. It's the last straw after years of 'austerity', as the growing inequality is called.
These lads use a fiddle, a couple of guitars, voice and truly horrifying wallpaper and curtains in a catchy anthem protesting the years-long swing to the advantage of the rich and grinding-down of the poor.

I particularly like the rhyme

The chloride, the fluoride, the cryptosporidium*
FLUSH THEM OUT 'cos it's time to get rid of 'em.

* Large areas of the west of Ireland have been under 'boil notices' for years now, with infestations of cryptosporidum, e coli and other water-borne pests due to septic tanks and the sewers of housing estates draining into rivers and lakes that supply publicly piped domestic water systems.

Shudder. I have lived with those curtains and that wallpaper. And those pint glasses brought home from where they're left on the street on people's way home from pubs. And had to wear an anorak indoors.

Tastes differ. I quite like the wallpaper.

Good song...

BUT [my usual beef] WHY O WHY the cod-American accents?? ("No pryvadisation - Irish warrr-derrr ..."

That's not American accents, that's Irish accents. Country folks.

They're good.. definitely an antidote to all the usual prissy anodyne acoustic 'folk' music..

Btw... that style of fiddle playing... what usually wins - the fiddle bow or the ceiling...???

Great work but I go along with Mike - why oh why the cod accent
I live in the Wild West (Clare) and I reckon we'd need sub-titles

Incidentally, anyone know who the guys are? The fiddle player has a lovely note; I wonder if they're in bands already, or if they're a known band.
