A friend of mine was asking after the old Doghouse FC in Walsall. Neither of us could remember where it had been held (poss. the Elms, Aldridge?) nor where it moved to. It looks as though it has reappeared in Alrewas recently ... not that that helps. Any ideas from you old Midlanders?

The same friend wondered if it was the Wheatsheaf -- which it was.

Songsmiths in the Fitters Arms? Barry in charge. I remember Tommy Dempsey singing there, unaccompanied, with the juke box downstairs virtually drowning him out.

Wasn't the Wheatsheaf also home to the Jazz Club, & Eagle Jazz band? It was.
Doesn't look like the vibrant music venue these days.
