Jim Saville, poet, Bradfordian and Cicely Fox Smith evangelist, is seeking any former members of the Shellback Chorus who might be interested in a get-together in July 2015. "CALLING ALL FORMER SHELLBACKS
I have tried contacting as many Ex Shellback Chorus members as I have emails for but there are big gaps in my address book. If you are interested in a reunion sing next summer [July 2015] please let me know either via messaging here or my Shantyfreak e-mail Jim"

I was never a "proper" Shellback member, but sang with them several times and heard them many times more. It would be good to hear them again.

I don't think a Comeback is ever going to happen but a reunion sing may if the time and place was right for enough people.

Personally July is too busy with festivals and stuff so wouldn't work for me (and some others )

If an earlier or later date could be organised I could be interested

Sorry, "Comeback" wasn't intended to mean a re-incarnated Shellbacks Chorus. (My title, not Jim's)

What he hopes to organise is a re-union sing (or several) at Cleckheaton Folk Festival next July. Further details from Jim:-

"The original offer was from Dave M at Cleck 3-4-5 July 2015 and would include at least one mainstage set in the Town Hall Sat night and some round town possibly in the new venue at the Masonic Lodge. Can't promise more than passes and a lot of fun.
It seems like there is enough to think about a possible other date out of the festival season provided or someone else could come up with a venue. Please spread the word shantyfreak @ yahoo . co .uk is waiting to hear from you."
