I will be picking up my eldest daughter on Christmas Eve to bring her home for Christmas Day. To avoid doing the return journey in one day, I'll be heading down south tomorrow which will give me an evening on my own. I realise that the pubs will be fairly crowded with pre-Christmas revellers but does anyone know of any sessions, sing-a-rounds or similar happening on 23 December 2014 in the Hornchurch/Upminster area?

Nearest event would be Romford Folk Club on 23rd December. It's our Christmas party but you would be welcome and can sing a song or play a tune if you want. We are based at The Sun, London Road, Romford RM7 9QA.

If you specifically want a session rather than a folk club then you are probably out of luck. Nobody publicises a Tuesday night session nearer than Chelmsford.

No, it's not specifically a session that I am looking for. I enjoy playing and singing but I'm also happy to listen.

The Romford Folk Club sounds good, if I can find it. If it's your Christmas party, I hope it would be OK to sing a non-Christmas song - I don't have too many of them. What time does it start?

Although there will be some Christmas songs, other songs are just as welcome.
We open at 8:00 and things usually get started about 8:20-8:30.
