Verandah Music

The songs behind the stories - the stories behind the songs

In 2003 Graham Seal and Rob Willis published Verandah Music: Roots of Australian Tradition. With contributions from dozens of leading collectors and researchers, the illustrated book and its accompanying 2 CDs was hailed as a major contribution to understanding and appreciating Australia's rich heritage of traditional music, dance and song. (see Contents and Reviews tab). Verandah Music was featured on national prime time television, in national, state and regional newspapers, radio and a host of magazines and other media.

Since then, Graham and Rob have continued to work together and with others on a variety of collecting, research, publishing and performance projects, around the country and beyond.

This site is a showcase for some of that important work of collection, preservation and dissemination of Australian traditional music and song – and more!

Hi, I agree Verandah Music is a great resource and I thoroughly enjoyed it when it first came out. That said I'll have to dig it out of the library and work through it again. Thanks very much guys.

Just one thing though, clicking on the link provided to the website seems to fire up my Outlook email program and not my web browser. Could be an error worth checking out. Meanwhile I'll just google the site and check out your other projects.

Cheers,

Andrez

I've emailed Rob & Graham as a quick search doesn't give their website.

As Sandra noted, a Google search doesnt lead to a URL for their website. Hopefully we get a reply soon.

Cheers

Andre
