Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: r.padgett Date: 26 Mar 15 - 09:41 AM check out the one page programme on line Fred I am running a "Songs from your region" on Sat 6 to 8pm in the Kelham Island tavern and there s/b plenty of opportunities in Fagan's (worth a visit if you haven't been before) as Fagan's is a big Sheffield folk song/music venue near ever night and weekends! Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: GUEST,Brian Date: 26 Mar 15 - 10:39 AM Ooh, another Mr Yorkshire Garland self publicity session, then? |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: GUEST,Paul Davenport Date: 26 Mar 15 - 12:52 PM Hi Guys, I don't use Mudcat much these days for what I guess will be pretty obvious reasons given what I'm about to say; Brian…your comment is ill-considered. We, the organisers of the festival invited Ray to run that session. Our decision to do so was considered and not a response to anything other than our conviction that Ray would do the job well. I fail to understand your comment. |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: r.padgett Date: 26 Mar 15 - 04:12 PM I was trying to be helpful towards Fred, Brian whoever you are I hope you have no axe to grind if so please log in and tell me here or in pm thanks Ray |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: Steve Gardham Date: 26 Mar 15 - 04:25 PM Well said, Paul! |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: r.padgett Date: 27 Mar 15 - 02:59 PM Easter 2015 plenty for everybody Ray |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: GUEST,Joe G Date: 27 Mar 15 - 08:52 PM Yes well said Paul - unless Brian was being playfully ironic why do people who love folk music have to be so unpleasant to those who show huge support to the genre like Ray I'll be there and looking forward to all contributions (apart from those I don't like ;-) |
Subject: RE: Sheffield sessions fest 2015 From: GUEST,Guest MC Fat Date: 28 Mar 15 - 06:42 AM We (The Sheffield Sessions Folk Festival) haven't asked Ray Padgett to publicise the event, However we are happy to endorse his comments. Ray has always been a supporter of our events and is an intregal part of the sing a round part of the Fest. I know his involvement with Yorkshires Garland and he has done some great work along with Steve Gardham and others long may it continue but as Paul D says Ray is booked on merit alone, |
