It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Captain Ken Stocks past Tall Ship Sailing Master of The Grand Turk past away earlier this evening. Ken who was also Captain of the Julia was a proper Yorkshire Man as those who knew him will confirm. Ken loved a good sing and I know he will be singing away with Johnny Collins and having a nattier over a few beers and a curry. I shall miss you Ken so cheers till we meet again along the road. RIP

Indeed a tragic loss, Ken was a stalwart and I have chosen that word carefully. I was told yesterday evening about 7pm that Ken had passed on and I and my good lady received the news with great sadness.

I'm having a hard time putting in words the loss of a truly great man that I was privileged to call friend , he gave so much and asked little in return , his quick smile and song will be sorely missed ,sail well old friend

Spent a few nights during Folk Week getting through some very good Irish with him. Sorry to hear this, he was far too young to join that great final sing.
