Subject: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: GutBucketeer Date: 29 Nov 99 - 09:12 AM WoW! I am listening to our own Rick Fielding on Spinner.com right now. They are playing the cut Fa Sol La. Congrats Rick it sounds great. When I clicked on album information it went to Amazon.com and couldn't find the Album. :( Wouldn't be great if it clicked through to Mudcat Store! JAB |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: JedMarum Date: 29 Nov 99 - 09:15 AM ... is it not released on Folkways? |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: Allan C. Date: 29 Nov 99 - 09:23 AM Yep, it was. Look here. |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: Rick Fielding Date: 29 Nov 99 - 12:36 PM Nope. It's on Borealis Records, but Sandy and Caroline don't drop their old Folk-Legacy pickers and singers like old dish rags. They might still even let me stay in "my room" (AKA the library)when I get down to New England in March. Thanks JAB. (now I gotta find out what "Spinner" is! Rick |

Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: GutBucketeer Date: 29 Nov 99 - 02:16 PM Spinner.com is an online radio broadcast source. It broadcasts over a hundred channels including Celtic, Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass. No Old Time Channel (Bummer). You can listen to it through a browser, or download their own player. I listen to it when I've listened to all of my favorite weekly programs such as Mudcat Radio (FIRST), Spud Mountain RFD, and Mountain Folk. Another great listening site is WMMT which plays Old Time and a lot of other stuff. They are all on some previous threads regarding Internet Radio. Spinner seems to play stuff that either has been popular, or that they think will become popular, on each channel. More mainstream stuff than I usually listen to. That is why I was pleasantly surprised to hear Rick. The world is catching up to us Mudcatters! Again, great stuff Rick! I'm pretty sure that you can get to the sites mentioned above by entering http://www.Spinner.com. http://www.teleport.com/~martini/radio/show.html http://www.mountainfolk.com/index.html#back http://www.broadcast.com/radio/public/wmmt/ JAB |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: Rick Fielding Date: 30 Nov 99 - 01:10 AM Thanks again JAB. I've checked it out. Quite interesting. Oh by the way fellow Catters, I had our own Peter T. on the radio show tonight (sorry the real audio for CIUT is still down) and he talked about music in Argentina, AND said that Alanis Morrisette was in town while he was there! Talk about bringing coals to Newcastle. Rick |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: Duckboots Date: 30 Nov 99 - 11:41 AM I forgot to mention this to Rick last night, but the station has posted an update about the internet situation. They are working on a new website and it should be up and running, with RealAudio, sometime in December. I'll keep you posted. Duckboots |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: Rick Fielding Date: 30 Nov 99 - 12:53 PM It's about Goldurn time! Thanks Ducks. |
Subject: RE: Fielding on Spinner.com !!! From: GutBucketeer Date: 30 Nov 99 - 01:12 PM Yeah! Lately, I've been coming to work more to listen to my Internet radio shows than to do my work (I get the work done). I've really missed your show Rick. I'm sure other Catters are feeling the loss as well. JAB |
