Despite some flooding down by the river in Knaresborough, we will be running our usual Tuesday night session tomorrow December 29th. No danger from the river as the pub is high up by the castle.

Our jam night continues to be popular with between 12 and 20 musicians/singers coming each week. Next Tuesday, 24th November we will have a guest appearance from songwriter John Wrightson. The session will run as normal for an hour or so and then John will perform a set of his songs for about 45 mins, after which ( if we have any time left) the session will carry on.

As always, it is free and everyone is welcome.

Sorry, I screwed the last entry up, it's a good eclectic night.

Any kind of songs, and the people that sing them, are welcome. We also get the occasional tune.

Last night we had two people who write their own songs, a Jackson Browne fan, A Dougie Maclean fan, the famous Roger Knowles playing his country stuff, a flautist, a banjo player singing the Daleman's litany etc. So, anything goes.

I only sing Traditional songs with or without guitar. Would this be OK for your session. I don't live too far away.

Our memories of precise dates are a bit hazy, but Steve and I have decided to celebrate one year of our joint hosting of the acoustic session tonight. There will be cake.

We had a great night on Tuesday with a number of singers/players visiting us for the first time (hopefully not the last!). Apart from the room being full of players, many of the pub regulars were enjoying the music from the bar and there was a real buzz about the place.

We will be celebrating our first anniversary soon and the session is really well established now.

In August we will be running a one-off Saturday session from 1pm on the 15th. This is part of the annual FEVA festival the link for which is here:

http://www.feva.info/

We hope that those who can't usually make it on Tuesday nights will try to get across for this daytime one.

Since the original thread disappeared in the recent crash, here is a reminder that we have a session every Tuesday night in the Cross Keys pub in Knaresborough, North Yorks: HG5 8AX. It is acoustic and we get all sorts of musical styles and ages of musicians.

It starts around 8pm and is jointly run by myself and Stephen Matthews from Wetherby, although the session is more of a cooperative.

There is plenty of parking in the market place and the castle ground nearby.

All performers and listeners will be made welcome.
