The thread title made me think of the not-yet-released album "Nick Hart Sings Sixty-Nine English Folk Songs".

'The Castle' by Love (well, it was used as the theme tune for Holiday '69).

A very fine album, albeit not terribly folk-y.

There's that pop song, I didn't notice anyone mention it yet.

When I kiss your mouth, I wanna taste it,
Turn it upside down, don't wanna waste it.

That one's for real, anyway :)

Wind, and sky,
And sounding surf,
And you, and I,
And soixante-neuf.

That, however, does not have a tune AFAIK.

Mighty Sparrow -- *Saltfish*    (1976 Calypso)

Saltfish stew is what I like
So doo-doo, give me day and night
I like you food, so don`t find me rude
My favourite, I`m sure every man in here already eat it

Saltfish
Nothing in the world sweeter than
Saltfish
English cod or the hard Barbadian
Saltfish
It`s sweeter than meat
When you want to eat
All saltfish sweet

Very well, I like the taste
Though the smell, sometimes out of place
It hard to take, but make no mistake
I want you to know, it`s because it extra sweet it smelling so boy

Saltfish
Big money does run behind it
Saltfish
Man does lick down man to find it
Saltfish
It`s sweeter than meat
When you want to eat
All saltfish sweet

Some like it hot, some like it cold
No matter what, I take it young or old
When it serve with wine, man does chew it fine
Put no pepper, the bone in the center does be sweet like sugar

Saltfish
Some men does get drunk to taste it
Saltfish
Some does go and hide to face it
Saltfish
It`s sweeter than meat
When you want to eat
All saltfish sweet

I would die a happy man
If I close me eye, with piece in me hand
Bury me, in the cemetery
In the mornin`,put a saltfish picture on me window saying

Saltfish
Sparrow was it`s greatest lover
Saltfish
He even adored the odour
Saltfish
It`s sweeter than meat
When you want to eat
All saltfish sweet

Bill D the one I am thinking of starts:

"I've heard the tales of knocking Nell are coarse and somewhat shockin'
On hearing them it's plain to see how she got the nickname Knockin'
She served out her apprenticeship she took on big and small
In Pubs and clubs and taxis and against the 'Palais' wall

One day she met a foreign bloke from gay Paree he hales
Though Nellie thought his accent came from somewhere North of Wales
He took her to the cinema and then did wine and dine her
So she promised him when they got home they'd have a sixty-niner

The song you posted I have heard referred to under the title of Nellie and the Gasman.

Nat King Cole's "Gonna Sit right Down and Write Myself a Letter" has the immortal line,
"Lots of Kisses on the bottom, I'll be glad I got 'em"
Don't know if that helps.

Gallus Moll, I just have this visual picture of the man crouching down to kiss the doorstep (a bit like a certain past Pope kissing the tarmac every time his plane landed successfully) - every time I hear it, it creases me up! (Ok, not strictly a 69 song, but still open to interpretation, especially if no punctuation!)
Please apologise from me to Iain as it's a lovely song, and oft sung in these pairts!!

Some hilarious giggles every time we get to that line in "Gallowa Hills" where "doon fa's a" " - one of my friends had a visual picture of all our loose flowing trousers -in Spain this was, trying to keep/look cool for our Spanish audience- falling off as we sang on stage!

Apologies for a stupidly over-active mind.

Tattie Bogle,
The composer of Annie McKelvie is a long time friend of mine - and neither of us can work out what connection you are making re 'Kiss on the doorstep' -- - ?!
Are we just naïve?

About 50 years ago a friend sent me a song (TTTO "Clementine") devoted entirely to that subject. In contrast to that subject, it has IMO nothing to recommend it; it is too much of a bore to copy out here.

Okay, steer clear if you'll be offended.

I can't think of many, apart from rugby songs, that mention, or allude to the subject, so I may have to use mondegreens.

Every week Radio2 plays "How do you like your eggs in the morning"

I like the line:
"I like mine with a kiss. Up or down?"

Or the Beach Boys:
"And the Southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I'm down there"

Or The Band
"Take a load of fanny" (okay, that word has different meanings UK/US)

Even Sir Tom (valleys boy & frequenter of rugby clubs) slips in:
"I'll soon be kissing your sweet little pussy, cat lips"

Any others to add?
