Subject: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Les in Chorlton Date: 08 Jul 15 - 03:23 AM I am using ABCexplorer to produce the 7th Edition of The Beech Band Tune Book. Further details: Here I would like to number the pages but cannot find a way in ABC and when I export is PDFs i can make no further changes (I think). Any advice? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Brakn Date: 08 Jul 15 - 04:19 AM I'm no expert Les! I've tried the different suggestions made on other sites like ...... %%footer "4" which will print a number 4 at the bottom of the file in ABCexplorer but it will not let you save the file that way. I imported one of the PDFs and could add a number manually by using the "Add Text" button - this will take you though. There is going to be a solution - how did you do the other book? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Les in Chorlton Date: 08 Jul 15 - 04:55 AM Thanks Mike. We haven't numbered pages before - simply numbered each tune - which is easy but time consuming. I was hoping for a press two buttons - number all pages approach. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Brakn Date: 08 Jul 15 - 05:03 AM I sent you an email about editing the PDFs. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Brakn Date: 08 Jul 15 - 05:35 AM Sorry Guest - it was nothing much, just what I had put above. I imported one of the PDFs and could add a number manually by using the "Add Text" button - this will take you time though. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 08 Jul 15 - 05:45 AM In the "Page Setup" dialogue, click "Header and Footer". In the two small text fields below "Header", enter "$P0" and "$P1", respectively. In the larger text field in between, you can enter "The Beech Band Tune Book". Choose a font and the font size. If you ask me how I know: I pressed F1 (- clever, am I not? -) and read in the help text: Header and footer |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Les in Chorlton Date: 08 Jul 15 - 07:53 AM Thanks Grishka - I will give that a go |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 09 Jul 15 - 07:12 AM You are welcome, Les. I have now found that "documentation of Abcm2ps" (not so easy to find!) and can give you further advice if needed. Just tell us where you want which numbers etc. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Page numbering in ABCexplorer From: Les in Chorlton Date: 09 Jul 15 - 01:18 PM Thanks again Grishka, I can now add page numbers as footers - not sure why I couldn't do that before. I can also save pdfs with two tunes a page and then join up any number to make a "Tune Book". All is well in "Beech Band Land" |
