I am puzzled by a youtube video that is there and not there.   At the end of 2014, Youtube put up an auto-generated audio recording of a song which we own. The problem was that every time I looked at the page a message came up with "this video is not available". Sorry about that."   Fine. I knew where we stood. It was not there at all for months.   Today, I typed in the song and it magically appeared on the site, full audio recording. I went back to it later, and it was gone.   Then it reappeared, now it's gone again.   Any ideas as to what is happening?   I have no problems with any other videos. If it's a licensing problem with the track then I can't understand why it's there, gone and back and then gone!

I was going to create a link to an archived Mudcat discussion on the song, but don't see the point if the song is unavailable. Anybody got any clues to what's going on?

"My Bonnie Maureen" sung by Daniel O' Donnell - album 'From the Heart/Thoughts of Home'. Also, album 'Walk along with Me'. There may be differences between what you can see in America, and what I see in the UK, I don't know. Thanks

That shows as #120 of the videos and also as blocked in Quebec, Canada.

Hmm! I can't understand! If it's not available due to licensing - then why today it was there, not there, there and not there again! It does apply to some other Daniel O' Donnell tracks as well. And this has nothing to do with whether you like Daniel or not, it's just a tech. query for a discussion linked to the song he recorded.

I might do that.   Maybe I'm just going senile. I swear it was there earlier - I even left a note on the site about the song. Now it's vanished! Tomorrow it might be back. There's a Youtube Gremlin out there playing games.

I see it as #130 in a list that seems to play once you click into it, with .

Perhaps the "provided to YouTube" part has changed? Various people and entities seem to have entered the items on that list.

No still not there today in the UK. I just don't get why it was there part of yesterday. How can it be visible one part of the day and then "This video is not available" the next?

I can't send a link to it if it's an empty screen. Bizarre.

It was actually the song 'My Bonnie Maureen' written by my father Stewart Ross, I was interested in not 'four walls'. However the same thing is going on with some of Daniel's other songs

I went to YouTube, did my own search for "My Bonnie Maureen" and found not one, but two videos of the song, both sung by Daniel O'Donnell.

When you looked for the song earlier, Alan, did you go through the same process or did you use a link? Perhaps the song has always been available but its URL had to be changed.

Perhaps the problem is solved.

It's available, but not available.   I may have confused you.   

The song is listed. It has a thumbnail. You click the link, go to the page, and then it says "this video is not available - sorry about that".   But for a little while, it was fully available with audio. Then it disappeared.   Then it came back. Then it disappeared. So all I was trying to get to the bottom of is what is happening.

   I can create a link - but the song 'My Bonnie Maureen' sung by Daniel O' Donnell when it's on Youtube is here today and gone today. So I can't figure out why, as it's not anything to do with my system.

It's apparently not just that track, but some others by the same artist. I'm just equally confused and looking for a logical explanation. Thanks.
