Subject: Phil Ochs tribute concert in Liverpool From: Felipa Date: 25 Aug 15 - 11:59 AM Phil Ochs would have been 75 years old in Dec 2015. I gather there are several Phil Ochs song nights taking place in the US this year. I just read of one scheduled for 7 Nov. at 81 Renshaw St, Liverpool, England. It will be a fundraiser for a suicide prevention charity. http://celebratingphilochs.com/ from Facebook page: "£3 in - all profits in aid of C.A.L.M (https://www.thecalmzone.net/) - a registered charity, which exists to prevent male suicide in the UK. "In 2013, male suicide accounted for 78% of all suicides and is the single biggest cause of death in men aged 20 – 45 in the UK." List of performers not scheduled yet, I only read hints that it would be a good cast. |

Subject: RE: Phil Ochs tribute concert in Liverpool From: Steve Shaw Date: 26 Aug 15 - 12:57 PM Phil's song When I'm Gone is one of my favourite songs of all time. Especially as sung by him, though Dick Gaughan also more than did it justice. It's on YouTube. |
