Subject: RE: Obit: Oliver Sacks, Neurowhiz & Author From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 26 Aug 16 - 07:32 PM Here's a rather lovely piece about Oliver Sacks I thought I'd draw attention to It's by his lover and partner of many years, Bill Hayes, and it tells of two incidents in the last months before Oliver died. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Oliver Sacks, Neurowhiz & Author (1933-2015) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 27 Aug 16 - 12:18 AM That is wonderful, not only because it is Sacks, but because it happened at Julius' and in that neighborhood. It's a sophisticated and generous clientele at that bar, a group who totally appreciated Oliver Sacks, and as generally older men themselves, would have had the demeanor that put him at ease. That last 30 minute conversation at the lamppost would have been such a gift! |
