Subject: Chord Req: Our Time Will Arise (Findask) From: Susan-Marie Date: 16 Sep 15 - 10:05 AM I've loved this song for years (related thread here Early thread w/ Lyrics ) but hearing it again yesterday made me realize how much it speaks to today's refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe. I'd like to teach it to my band but can't find any sheet music. Has anyone figured out the chords for themselves and would be willing to share? |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Our Time Will Arise (Findask) From: Susan-Marie Date: 18 Sep 15 - 03:20 PM Our time will arise, our time will arise, our time will arise some sweet day Our time will arise, our time will arise, our time will arise some sweet day A station of faces, a platform that's bleak cold and staring No more A crowd slowly watching with eyes that are bloodshot and aching No we couldn't stay here, no we couldn't wait here No we couldn't hold on betrayed and abused Abandoned to rot here like cold empty empires Arising a monster, we slip into hatred |

The main strummer makes use of what seems to be a modal tuning. (If you don't know what that is, it refers to a chord--such as the D--which is played without the defining third note, so the chord can be major or minor depending on the vocal notes the singer uses. Hope this helps. Best to you and thanks for your cooperation :-) |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Our Time Will Arise (Findask) From: Susan-Marie Date: 18 Sep 15 - 07:00 PM Thank you so much, mysterious Guest!! I hope you enjoyed hearing the song. My band's guitarist is always talking about modal tuning so I'm sure he'll know what you mean by "double drop D". Really, I am so happy to have this. :) |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Our Time Will Arise (Findask) From: GUEST,# Date: 19 Sep 15 - 04:28 PM I'm pretty sure your guitarist will have some sixths to add, etc. Glad to have been of help and thank you for turning me on to a new song :-) |
