I received a very emotional phone call from Stuart Campbell that his partner janet Rowan had sadly passed away. janet fro Hull was very well known in the singaround scene. A lovely funny spirited 'ull lass famous for her interpretations of Jake Thackeray. I shall miss her dreadfully and my thoughts are with Stuart and Janrt's children.

What! I just can't believe this. Janet will be sadly missed by all. We didn't even know she was ill, we were only talking to her in July at Cleckheaton. Please, please post the funeral arrangements as we would like to come and pay our respects. Thinking of you Stuart and Janet's family.

Many mudcatters do not know people's names outside of Mudcat.
Janet appeared here as brid widder.
We, the Ducks, have spent much happy time with Janet and Stuart over the years. Our thoughts are with Stuart.

Oh! No! She was a lovely woman. I met her at several festivals and a Mudgather. She had a wicked sense of humour at times but was a kind and gentle soul. Please give my condolences to the family.

Yes I had heard this from Jim McDonald on fb ~ Janet had looked after Jim's feet last Whitby ff (a nurse by training) and long conversation with Stuart as above

Janet was a great person, condolences to all who knew her

I was shocked to hear this news. Maggie and I had been friends with Janet for many years and part of the Hull Mudcat team which helped us extend our friendships throughout the folk world. We last saw Janet on the last night of Whitby Folk Festival at the end of August, but we had no idea that that would be our last meeting. Farewell Janet. To say it was good to know you would be a sad understatement.

Fiona and I were shocked to hear the sad news from Jim on FB. We always enjoyed seeing Janet at New Year and on our occasional trips to Hull. She will be missed and our thoughts are with Stuart

Janet's Funeral will be on Monday 12th October at St.Anthony's Church, 667 Beverley Road, Hull at HU6 7HL at 2.45 pm then onto New Adelphi Club. No flowers but a collection for Marie Curie at the Church
